I asked 50+ college golf coaches: “Do you have any generic recruiting advice? (To get recruited and end up at the right place)”

This was the most open-ended question in the survey, resulting in a wealth of insightful comments from the coaches (which I’ll list below). The greatest benefit from this chapter will likely come from reading each of these comments in detail.

Due to the open-ended nature of the question, the responses varied widely, making it challenging to summarize the sentiments. I made my best effort to capture the key points, though the list may be somewhat extensive.

  1. Work Ethic and Character:

    • Consistent emphasis on hard work, not just in golf but in being a good person.

    • Patience and letting one's work and results speak for themselves.
