Rounds of the year (boys' division) and other outliers on the 2023 Srixon Tour 🏌
Mikkelgolf.com Newsletter #5
As a continuation of last week’s newsletter looking into the Srixon Tour (Norway’s Junior Tour), I thought it would be fun to highlight some outliers. Let’s look at the three best rounds in both the boys’ division this week, and the girl’s division next week. I’ve defined best rounds by how many strokes were gained to the field (total field - both boys and girls) during that particular round:
🌟 1. Cornelius Farhang's Final Round at Kragerø
In the closing act of the season, Cornelius Farhang delivered a stellar performance at Kragerø. With a well-executed round of 66, Farhang claimed victory in the final event. His round included five birdies and one bogey on a day with high scoring average. Farhang’s round gained an incredible 12.52 strokes on the field.
🥇 2. William Sundborn's Triumph at Asker
A masterclass in precision, William Sunborn's final round at Asker earned him a remarkable 12.51 strokes on the field. Just 0.01 less than Farhang’s round at Kragerø. With a score of 63, Sundborn demonstrated exceptional control and led to an impressive win at Asker.
🎯 3. Oscar Bach's Season Opener Spark at Sola
In the very first round of the Srixon Tour season, Oscar Bach's opening round of 65 at Sola set the tone for an outstanding year, gaining 12.46 strokes on the field. Bach's performance in the season opener served as an inspiring start for the tournaments that followed.
Let’s highlight a couple other outliers from the 2023 season on the Srixon Tour…
Easiest Hole?
Trysil Hole 7 during the second round play .30 under par. The par 5 saw 4 eagles, 33 birdies, 32 pars, 11 bogeys, and just 2 double bogeys.
Hardest Hole?
Asker Hole 5 during the first round played incredibly tough. The field averaged .98 strokes over par. We saw only 5 birdies. The out-of-bounds lined hole claimed 50 “victims” this round - 31 bogeys and 19 double bogeys or worse.
Winner’s data (boys’ division):
Next week we will look at the best rounds in the girls’ division and a couple more outliers from the 2023 Srixon Tour!
Have a great week!
