Rounds of the year (girls' division) and more Srixon Tour Outliers 🏌️♀️
Mikkelgolf.com Newsletter #6
This week, before we close the chapter on the Norwegian Junior Tour, let’s look at the girl’s division and a couple more outliers.
As a reminder, last we looked at the best rounds in the boys’ division on the 2023 Srixon Tour (Norway’s Junior Tour). We also saw what holes played the easiest and toughest all year. You can find that post HERE.
We’ve also looked at how the winners on the Norwegian Junior Tour separated themselves. We were able to see that fewer bogeys and double bogeys accounted for three fourths of the strokes gained to the filed. You can find that post HERE.
And finally, we’ve looked first round scoring averages. We’ve seen a pattern of higher scores during the first round on both the Norwegian Junior Tour, as well as the AJGA.
Now to this week’s topic… As a reminder, I’ve defined best rounds by how many strokes were gained to the field (total field - both boys and girls) during that particular round. Here are the most outstanding rounds in the girl’s division this year:
Pok Tuphok Pedersen’s opening round of 70 at Elverum gained an incredible 9.3 strokes on the field. Pedersen made only one bogey on a day that saw most of the field in both divisions struggle. A fantastic performance!
Henriette Spilling Gjelten’s final round at Moss & Rygge gained an impressive 8.6 strokes on the field and clocks in as the second best round of the year. Her final round 72 was two strokes better than Pok Pedersen, and 5 strokes clear of the rest of the field that day. The round put an exclamation mark on her win at Moss & Rygge where she won by six strokes. Golf clap!
Pok Tuphok Pedersen claimed two spots on the 2023 best rounds list as her great final round of 69 at Trysil gained a super-strong 8.5 strokes on the field. The round also earned her a spot in the playoff for the individual title (which she won). Her 69 was three strokes better than anyone else in the girls’ division that day.
Winner data (girls division):

Next week - let’s move into some professional golf! That’s all I’ll share for now…
Have a great week!
