This past week, I had the privilege of joining Coach McGraw on the Better Than I Found It Podcast. In the episode, we discussed several posts from this Substack newsletter, along with a few other topics, like how we launched the podcast together around four years ago, the implications of the upcoming NCAA settlement on roster sizes, Johnny Keefer’s phenomenal transition to pro golf, and running. If you haven’t had a chance to listen, you can find the episode HERE.
Thank you for having me on, Coach McGraw! Many of my readers here are likely already subscribers to Better Than I Found It, but if not, I highly recommend it. The podcast is a fantastic listen, especially for college golf enthusiasts, with new episodes every Monday.
The podcast appearance has brought many new subscribers to this newsletter. With the recent wrap-up of our recruiting e-book chapters and an influx of fresh faces, I thought this would be a perfect time to spotlight and link to some of the most popular posts from this year.
THE COLLEGE GOLF RECRUITMENT PLAYBOOK: INSIGHTS FROM OVER 50 COACHES
The recruiting project has been the most recent series of posts. I surveyed more than 50 of my former colleagues (college coaches) on a number of recruiting questions. The answers were quite telling. I categories the insights into 11 chapters, adding up to an untraditional e-book. This is why the recruiting posts are the only paid posts so far on this Substack. You can find them here:

UP NEXT:
There are a few posts in the works currently. I’ve gotten the chance to write a couple more pieces for Clippd this Fall focusing on college golf. When they are released, I will link to them through this newsletter as well.
Further, I’m working on a couple more projects with David Tenneson (who writes the 5 count 4 Substack) - also targeting collegiate golf. Really looking forward to those projects coming together.
I’m always looking into scoring on other levels as well. I would like to do another scoring deep dive on the junior level now that a few tours have off seasons. We’ll see what I have time for this Fall.
Lastly, I’m working on a longer writing project centered around player development. I’m always reflecting a lot as a coach, and with time, I’ve realized some of the mistakes I made as a player myself.
This Substack will be the outlet for all of these various projects.
I appreciate all the readers on here. I welcome all of your feedback and suggestions into topics/my writing, etc.! If you’ve enjoyed some of the posts, please share them with a friend or two!
